Four artists announced for Accenture’s Women on Walls at University College Cork

Vera Klute, Vanessa Jones, Gerry Davis and Julianne Guinee have been awarded the commission. Artists will depict women including Edna O’Brien, Joanne O’Riordan, and Nano Nagle who are connected to Munster and have contributed to the betterment of society. The 11 women were selected through a public call for nominations via University College Cork, and the artists were selected through an open call process run by Business to Arts.

Lord Mayor honours UCC’s Youth and Community work education

The Lord Mayor’s Reception recognised the contribution and value of Youth and Community Work education in UCC to the people of Cork and to the Cork community. Over 5,000 UCC Youth and Community Work graduates have gone on to lead, support, and advocate within youth, community, and voluntary organisations, as well as in public service across Cork and Ireland. The event will highlight UCC’s ongoing commitment to working in partnership with national and local community organisations to strengthen the community and voluntary sector.
